Clean Lines for Bathroom Remodel

This post-war era bungalow was impeccably maintained but it was also ready for its first new bathroom in 60 or so years. The layout of the room, the 4×4 blue ceramic wall tiles and mosaic floor set in two inches of mortar were all typical of the era. The owners wanted a contemporary bathroom in a traditional space.

Despite the small footprint of the room, we were able to install a wide vanity and large linen cabinet in place of the pedestal sink and framed closet.  By bringing the space down to the studs, we were able to provide new insulation and vapor barrier and new drywall on the walls and ceiling.  The owners selected a Kohler cast iron tub for durability and white subway tiles line the shower.  The cabinetry is horizontal grain bamboo with a white Silestone quartz top.  Undermount sink and Stillness faucet complete the look.  The medicine cabinet by Robern completes the space.
